In a report sent to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on August 20, the fundraising group for Ms. Harris announced that it had raised an additional $204 million in July. Meanwhile, the amount of money on Mr. Trump’s side was $48 million.

Including allied committees, Ms. Harris’s campaign raised a total of $310 million last month, while Mr. Trump’s campaign and allied committees raised $138 million.

According to Harris’s aides, the majority of the money raised by the campaign and its committees came in late July, after President Joe Biden announced he was ending his campaign and endorsing his “vice president” as the Democratic nominee on July 21. The amount raised was more than $60 million in just the first three days after Harris entered the race for the White House.

FEC records show that Ms. Harris’s campaign also spent more than Mr. Trump’s campaign in the past month — $81 million compared to $24 million.

On August 20, Ms. Harris appeared online at the Democratic National Convention, officially accepting the party’s presidential nomination. Ms. Harris, 59 years old, is the first woman of color to be selected as a presidential candidate by a major party in the United States. If she wins the election in November, Ms. Harris will be the first female president of the United States since the founding of the country.
