Liverpool shooting: Man ‘shot in buttock’ with suspect still at large
The victim made his own way to the hospital and had left the scene by the time the officers arrived. His injuries are not life-threatening.

A man was rushed to hospital after being shot in the buttock. Police were called to Fountains Road, Walton, just after 9pm to reports a man had been shot.
The victim made his own way to the hospital and had left the scene by the time the officers arrived. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Police believe a passenger in the rear of a dark car pulled up beside the victim and shot them. Detectives are now appealing for witnesses.
Merseyside Police said: “When officers arrived, the victim had left the scene in a car, and he self-presented at the hospital a short time later. The victim had been shot in the buttock, and his injury is not life-threatening.”
“It is believed the victim was on Fountains Road when a dark car pulled up alongside him. A passenger in the rear of the car opened the door and fired a gun at the victim.”

Detective Inspector asks public for help
Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher, said: “We are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in gun crime and will do anything in our power to remove these individuals from our streets and put them behind bars.
“We are committed to tackling gun crime, but we can’t do it on our own. I would urge people from the community who may have any information which could help our investigation to contact us. Any information provided will be acted upon. Help us to put the person responsible for firing the gun where he belongs – behind bars. If you have any information at all, which may help us piece together the evidence we require, please call.”

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “When officers arrived the victim had left the scene in a car and he self-presented at hospital a short time later. The victim had been shot in the buttock and his injury is not life-threatening.
“It is believed the victim was on Fountains Road when a dark car pulled up alongside him. A passenger in the rear of the car opened the door and fired a gun at the victim.
“Crime scene investigators are carrying out forensic examinations at the scene and house-to-house inquiries are underway. Officers will also be looking at CCTV from the area in a bid to identify the person responsible, the driver of the car and another passenger within the car. High visibility patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.”
