JD Vance has been slammed by the Harris campaign for his remarks on school shootings.

Georgia shooting suspect Colt Gray has been charged with the murder of two students and two teachers with a semiautomatic assault-style rifle in a sickening attack.

The 14-year-old is suspected of using an AR-15-style rifle that was bought as a Christmas present by his father, Colin Gray, who has been arrested for four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children.

During his Arizona rally on Thursday, Vance called for “prayer and sympathies” after the “awful tragedy,” before turning on Kamala Harris.

“The Kamala Harris answer is to take law-abiding citizens guns from them,” said Vance, who added: “Clearly strict gun laws isn’t the thing that will solve this problem.”

“If these psychos are going to go after our kids we’ve got to be prepared for it.

“We don’t have to like the reality that we live in, but it is the reality we live in. We’ve got to deal with it.”

When asked what could be done to stop more school shootings, Vance said they happen in states with strict and lax gun laws.

Claiming extra security is the answer, he continued: “I don’t like that this is a fact of life.

“But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools.

“We’ve got to bolster security so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and kill a bunch of children they’re not able.”

The Harris campaign released a statement, slamming Vance for his comments in Arizona.

They pointed out that Harris said “it doesn’t have to be this way” in response to another senseless school shooting.

It read: “Donald Trump and JD Vance think school shootings are a ‘fact of life’ and ‘we have to get over it.’

“Vice President Harris and Governor Walz know we can take action to keep our children safe and keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

Donald Trump and JD Vance will always choose the NRA and gun lobby over our children. That is the choice this election.”

Harris, who leads the new White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, has supported stronger gun controls, such as banning sales of AR-15 and similar rifles.

And better school security, like making sure classroom doors don’t lock from the outside as they did in Parkland.
