The former US president was at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia to lay a wreath marking the third anniversary of 13 American soldiers being killed in Afghanistan.
Donald Trump has a “cheesy grin,” it’s being said
Donald Trump has stirred outrage after being snapped giving his characteristic grin and thumbs-up beside the tomb of a deceased marine.
The ex-president was caught on camera with a clueless beam at Arlington National Cemetery just outside Washington DC, a location known for its solemnity.
“Smiling thumbs up at the grave is unusual, to say the least,” commented Adam Kinzinger, the former GOP congressman and Air National Guard lieutenant colonel.
The former president traveled to Virginia to place a wreath, marking three years since 13 US soldiers died amidst the disorderly pullout from Afghan istan.
Trump had authorized an operation to bring troops home before Biden took office at the White House.

In an open letter, first written about on Monday by USA Today, 238 people who worked for former President George H.W. Bush, former President George W. Bush, former Arizona Sen. John McCain and Utah Sen. Mitt Romney call on their fellow “moderate Republicans and conservative independents” to join them in backing Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, over Trump and his vice presidential pick, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio.
Trump is capable of being photographed without smiling
“Of course, we have plenty of honest, ideological disagreements with Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz,” the Republicans wrote, noting the significance of a handful of battleground states that proved crucial to Democrat Joe Biden’s slim margin of victory in 2020. “That’s to be expected. The alternative, however, is simply untenable.”

Bush staffer and homeland security adviser to Trump’s vice president, Mike Pence. The range of jobs represented runs the gamut from chief of staff to intern.
