Donald Trump has opened up a significant lead in key battlegrounds, according to a new poll
Donald Trump appears to be gaining serious momentum in 10 key battleground states, according to a new poll for Daily Express US.
Data from the Democracy Insitute shows the Republican Presidential hopeful is favored by five percentage points over Kamala Harris – at 50 percent to 45 percent.
The poll asked 1,000 likely voters who would be their pick in the battlegrounds of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Nationally, the Democracy Institute data suggests Trump is ahead with 49 percent to Harris’s 46 percent.
It comes as the former President recently claimed the ‘Harris honeymoon is over,’while Harris herself has said she wants to be seen as the underdog.
Since Biden dropped out, Harris started off losing in the polls and with a low favorability, but as time passed, she continued to rise more and more as the public got to know more about her.
However, according to 538’s aggregate poll numbers, Harris leads Trump by three points nationally.

In 2016, final polling averages at RealClearPolitics showed Hillary Clinton in front of Trump by 3.2 percent, though she won the national popular vote by 2.1 percent.
However, there was little hint that Trump was going to win the historically Democratic states of Wisconsin and Michigan which ultimately helped him claim the election victory.
