Donald Trump has been slammed for appearing “tired,” “incoherent” and “sleepy” as he delivered a speech about crime and safety in Detroit’s northwest.

Speaking at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in Howell on Tuesday, Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of not doing enough to tackle crime.

“You can’t walk across the street to get a loaf of bread, you get shot, you get mugged, you get raped…it’s time for a change,” he said.

Many concerned viewers on social media said that the former president appeared to be sluggish and “incoherent.”

“Does Trump sound off? Like he’s tired, he’s not his usual self,” one person wrote.

“It’s the second straight day where a sedated-sounding Trump has been ranting incoherently at an event (this time in Howell, Michigan) while people are forced to stand behind him for way too long,” one user wrote.

“The Democrats are breaking this man, you can hear it in his voice. He’s tired. Sleepy Donald Trump,” another user wrote.

“It’s only his second event of the week, but Donald Trump is visibly tired and confused while delivering remarks in Michigan,” another user wrote.

Before his address in Howell, the former president was criticized by the Harris campaign for visiting the town, as it was the site of a white supremacist rally last month.

“The racists and white supremacists who marched in Trump’s name last month in Howell have all watched him praise Hitler, defend neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, and tell far-right extremists to ‘stand back and stand by’,” Kamala Harris’ Michigan spokeswoman Alyssa Bradley said.

“Trump’s actions have encouraged them, and Michiganders can expect more of the same when he comes to town.”

On July 21, a small group of white supremacists held a rally in Howell, chanting “Heil Hitler” and carrying signs that said “White Lives Matter.”

Ahead of Trump’s visit, Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy warned there could be “dirtbags that want to rile stuff up” at the event.

“Within the last month, there’s been a couple of folks that have come here to cause a little bit of a stir, spew some hate speech, white supremacy crap,” Murphy said.

“Those folks are from out of town, those are not Livingston County people. I’m just asking us, Livingston County residents, to do what we do, and be respectful like we are. I would hope everybody would get that message, but there will be a couple of dirtbags that want to rile stuff up.”
