Donald Trump accuses Kamala Harris of telling shocking lie…as questions grow over VP’s claim about her down-to-earth past_l

Donald Trump accused Kamala Harris of lying about working at McDonald’s – a claim that has sparked endless speculation.

Trump was speaking at the Moms for Liberty convention in Washington on Friday when he expressed skepticism over this piece of Harris’s biography, which she has used to proclaim her ordinary background.

‘She also said, “I worked at McDonald’s.” Turned out she didn’t work at McDonalds,” the former president mentioned to the audience.

‘Did anyone see that?’ he continued. ‘After an exhaustive study that took about 20 minutes, they found out she never worked there.’

In April, Harris appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she was asked if she worked at the fast food restaurant.

‘I did. Yes, I did work at McDonald’s,’ the vice president said. ‘When I was at school…I did fries. And then I did the cashier.’

Harris is supposed to have worked at a franchise in the California Bay Area during the summer after her freshman year of college at Howard University.

However, she did not mention this biographical detail until she ran for president five years ago.

Speaking to workers at a labor rally in Las Vegas in 2019, the future vice president first referred to her time at the Golden Arches.

‘I worked in McDonald’s,’ she said to the crowd. ‘I was a student when I was working at McDonald’s.’

From the outset, some were skeptical of the claim, observing that Harris had never previously mentioned it on the campaign trail or in the two memoirs she had authored.

According to the freebeacon, in her book The Truths We Hold, published in 2019, she makes no mention of her stint at the Golden Arches despite the fact that she includes a passage about the jobs she held in college.

Likewise, two biographies about Harris fail to make reference to employment at McDonald’s.

Dan Morain, author of Kamala’s Way: An American Life, told the freebeacon that he was ‘not aware’ of her work at the fast food restaurant.

Critics also cite the fact that Harris did not mention her time at McDonald’s on a resume and job application she submitted a year after she graduated from college.

On the job application for a law clerk position in the Alameda County district attorney’s office, the vice president, who was in law school at the time, provided a list of previous jobs.

Despite being asked to include every position she had worked in the last ten years, Harris did not mention McDonald’s, which has fed further speculation that the claim is dubious.

However, others have countered that it wouldn’t make sense to reference work at a fast food restaurant in a job application for the district attorney’s office.

Perhaps it isn’t surprising that the claim has come under scrutiny, given that Harris’s campaign has leaned on it to shore up the vice president’s middle-class image.

Earlier this month, campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said that the Democratic nominee was ‘the daughter of a working mother and worked at a McDonald’s to put herself through college.’

The daughter of a renowned biomedical scientist and a Stanford economist, Harris has also dredged up her time at the Golden Arches to project a humbler image.

At a campaign event earlier in the month, she identified herself and her running mate, Tim Walz, as two ‘middle-class kids,’ one of whom had a ‘summer job at McDonald’s.’

According to Politico, an early cut of a campaign ad even went so far as to claim that Harris labored at the fast food restaurant to ‘pay her way’ through college.

Staffers, however, quickly amended it because the truth was that she took the summer job to have some extra spending money.

But Harris’s time at McDonald’s is also being used as a way to distinguish her from Trump, who they seek to present as an out-of-touch elite by contrast.

Trump grew up the son of a wealthy New York City property developer and has never struggled for cash.

‘You knew Vice President Harris grew up in a middle-class family, picked up shifts at McDonald’s as a student,’ Governor Walz said at the AFSCME convention.

‘I keep asking this to make a contrast here,’ he continued. ‘Can you simply picture Donald Trump working at a McDonald’s trying to make a McFlurry or something.’
