Is Harris Surging Ahead of Trump? Polls Reveal a Stunning Shift in the 2024 U.S. Election Race! H

A Morning Consult poll of more than 11,000 registered voters found Vice President Harris up 4 percentage points over former President Trump (48% to 44%). The latest numbers show Harris improving by 1 percentage point from last week’s poll.

Ms. Harris has not trailed Mr. Trump in any daily tracking poll since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race in late July.

Both candidates have strong support from their parties, with 90% of Democrats backing Harris and 89% of Republicans backing Trump. But independents are more likely to support Harris (42% to 38%), while 20% support someone else or are undecided.

Harris’s vice presidential nominee, Tim Walz, has a similar approval rating to Trump’s vice presidential nominee, JD Vance, at 39%. However, Vance’s disapproval rating is higher, at 41% compared to Walz’s 36%.

The Morning Consult poll was conducted Aug. 16-18 among 11,501 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus/minus 1 percentage point.

Meanwhile, FiveThirtyEight’s average of national polls, which includes Morning Consult’s poll, shows Harris leading by just under 3 percentage points (46.7% to 43.8%).
