Reform UK could eclipse the Conservative Party as early as today after a surge in recent days following the launch of a new membership tracker at the weekend – handing a massive Christmas bonus for leader Nigel Farage.

Reform UK has seen a dramatic resurgence in 2024 – and with the 2029 general election firmly in its sights, the former UKIP leader has explicitly stated his intention to replace the Conservative Party as the voice of the right.

Citing figures circulated at the time of the leadership election won by Kemi Badenoch was victorious, a Reform spokesman told Express.co.uk there were 131,680 Conservative Party members.

The ticker was launched on Sunday, at which point Reform membership was just over 118,00.

Two days later, the figure passed the 125,000 mark and, as of 5.45am on Christmas Day, stood at 128,387 and rising.

If Reform’s membership continues to grow at the current rate, it’s quite possible that it will pass that of the Tories today.

Mr Farage, posting on X at 1.30pm yesterday, shared the tracker, commenting: “People joining Reform UK has now accelerated to 10 per minute!”

On Monday Mr Farage posted: “At 5pm yesterday we launched our LIVE membership tracker.

“Three thousand people have joined us in 24 hours since.

“If you want to save our country, then please join them too.”

Previously, referring to the launch of the ticker, he said: “Reform has all the momentum in British politics, as our membership numbers show.

“We are growing at an unprecedented rate and will soon surpass the failed Tories, who are being abandoned after 14 years of deception and failure.”

Reform UK Chairman, Zia Yusuf said: “History is being made as the century-long stranglehold the two old parties have had on Britain is finally broken.

Nigel Farage will be the next Prime Minister, and will return Britain to greatness.”

Nigel Farage says the Reform UK has witnessed “unprecedented” growth since the launch of a new membership tracker at the weekend – and could even eclipse the Conservatives before the end of the year.

Clacton MP Mr Farage was speaking at the end of a year in which his party has already achieved a significant milestone, winning five seats in July’s general election.

And the former UKIP leader suggested there is more to come as he claimed the Tories, now led by Kemi Badenoch, were paying the price for “14 years of deception and failure”.

Reform UK has seen a dramatic resurgence under the leadership of Mr Farage and with the 2029 general firmly in its sights, he has explicitly stated his intention to replace the Conservative Party as the primary voice of the right.

Central to Mr Farage’s ambitions is his declared aim of replacing Sir Keir Starmer in No. 10, a prospect that would have been considered unthinkable just a few years ago.

Buoyed by his close relationship with incoming US President Donald Trump, who will be inaugurated on January 20, 2025, Farage has sought to leverage this transatlantic alliance to bolster his image as a global statesman.

Mr Trump’s vocal support for Farage and their shared populist agenda have further solidified Reform UK’s credibility among right-leaning voters.
