WASPI women flock to Reform UK after Labour snub: new poll.H

New research has found that support for Reform UK has rocketed since Labour’s snub last week.

Nigel Farage has seen a huge rush of support from WASPI women after Labour announced last week they wouldn’t be paying out compensation.

A major survey of 11,000 women born in the 1950s and affected by the changes in pension age has found that Reform UK is now the most popular party among the group.

24% say they would now support Mr Farage’s insurgent party, up nine points when the same group was asked how they voted at the July election.

Meanwhile Labour has crashed down from 30% at the election to just 7% today.

The Tories are also down slightly, from 18% to 13%.

The poll is yet another feather in Mr Farage’s cap, who is now consistently polling alongside Sir Keir and Kemi Badenoch.

However WASPI women backing Reform UK will be left disappointed, as the Express understands it is the party’s policy to not pay out compensation to the group.

A source added the party has to remain credible, especially on spending, in order to win the 2029 general election.

threatening Labour with a vote in parliament, which could spark a major rebellion.

Ms Cooper is demanding Labour put its decision to a vote, but warned that if it fails to the LibDems may put a motion forward themselves.

Up to 100 furious Labour MPs are “deeply unhappy” with Liz Kendall’s announcement last week, which ruled out payouts despite many senior Labour figures promising to rectify the injustice if they won the election.

Party insiders are reportedly “stunned” that the new intake of MPs in particular are openly criticising Sir Keir and Liz Kendall’s decision.

Up to 100 Labour MPs may now vote against the Government’s decision to rule out spending £10 billion compensating the group if the LibDems succeed in forcing a vote.

Mother of the House Diane Abbott has led the revolt, blasting the Prime Minister on Newsnight.

She sensationally let rip: “He doesn’t [understand how the WASPI women feel]. The thing about Keir is he’s only been in the party a relatively short period of time. He was DPP until 2014 during which time he couldn’t be a member of the party.”

“Then he got parachuted into Holborn and St Pancras, then because it was a safe seat he didn’t have to fight for that.

“He has no feel for politics. Now he might say ‘I’ve got a great feel for politics because I smashed people like you’.

“But he’s got no feel for politics, he doesn’t understand how they feel. Remember he’s on his big fat DPP pension. What does he know about ageing women who really will depend on the state pension?”

Sir Keir has so far refused to concede a vote on the issue, insisting that he simply cannot afford the tens of billions of pounds in compensation demanded by the WASPI women.
