The sky over London was lit up bright orange tonight as the sun set over the UK capital.
Locals have taken to social media saying it is unlike anything they’ve ever seen before.
The horizon was filled with orange, yellow and red hues for a short time just before 6pm.
One said: “Instantly felt my mood lift when I saw this coming out of work, if I could chase the sunset I would.”
A second added: “Have never seen a sky like this in London. Mobile camera does a s*** job of showing it. Like a super deep orange.”

Some have speculated that the colour may have been caused by Saharan sand, but this has not been confirmed.
Saharan sand is a mixture of sand and dust that can blow over from Africa with strong winds, covering thousands of miles.
In order for the dust to get from up in the sky down to the ground, it needs rain. As raindrops fall, they collect particles of dust on the way down.
Then when the raindrops land on something and eventually evaporate, they leave behind a layer of dust.
