A fire near train tracks in south London has brought journeys to a standstill, with heavy disruption set to last all day.
All lines have been closed from Brockley due to the fire, with National Rail expecting ‘major disruption’ from the area into central London until the end of the day.
While the fire has now been put out, it damaged the electricity supply cables to the railway and signalling equipment.
Trains running between East and West Croydon/Crystal Palace and London Bridge/Canada Water may be cancelled, revised or diverted.
Meanwhile, flights have been delayed and some cancelled at Heathrow and Gatwick airports today, including by British Airways.
